Empowering our veterans by developing trustful relationships through safe housing, life skills training, educational programs, and employment opportunities
We are a group of citizens who have decided to make a difference. None of us receive a dime for our time. All the money we raise goes to those we are serving.
Our OTOW home is a temporary home meant to provide support for homeless veterans as they rebuild their lives. It gives them a secure place to live, free of drugs, alcohol and violence. We develop trusting relationships as we help each individual overcome the obstacles standing in the way of a successful life. Veterans can be aided to reinstate driver’s licenses, pay delinquent child support, pay old tickets, or to get earned veterans benefits. Transportation can be provided and job interviews set up. Everyone needs to know that they are valued and that someone cares. WE ARE THAT SOMEONE!
We provide a safe and comfortable home to help our veterans get back on their feet
Our clients have experienced the horror of living on the street, some barraged by drug pushers while others have been beaten and robbed. We’ve been told by our clients, “You never get good sleep on the street. You have to sleep with one eye open.” Once they are placed with us, they tell us how good it feels to finally be safe. Our house is free of drugs, alcohol and guns and we strive to make the environment feel like an actual home rather than a facility.
Helping them get their VA benefits
Our clients face extreme difficulties trying to obtain the benefits they have earned. It is almost an impossibility for them to keep required appointments without adequate transportation, or while trying to hold down their job. We help each veteran know about eligible benefits and we set up appointments for them. Because we provide housing and transportation, they can keep the required appointments and receive the important benefits they earned.
Helping them develop life skills & provide educational programs
Accountability and education combine to give our veterans their best chance at being successful. Our men are taught basic living skills needed to maintain a home. They are also taught interview techniques and job skills. We encourage them to set goals and to obtain further education in order to find a successful job. Active participation in the daily upkeep of the property is especially important to teaching the men life skills. Each veteran in our home is required to make their own bed, clean their own room, wash their own clothes and cook their own meals. They must also help to care for chickens, a garden, and help in yard maintenance.

Make a donation.
Our veterans need our help and every dime of your donation goes directly to help a veteran get back on his feet. Please consider helping us help them.
Meet Our Veterans and How OTOW Helped Them
When we met Tim, he was homeless and could only afford a storage unit that cost $35 a month. He would change his clothes in the unit and then walk five miles to work. He was struggling to get his license. OTOW provided a home and a bike to help him get to and from work. He was given an attorney to help him get his license. Tim has now obtained a driver’s license, secured a job, has a home and a car.

Ronnie received financial support from OTOW to help him obtain his driver’s license. OTOW gave him a vehicle and helped him secure a steady job. When the OTOW house leader of one of the homes is away visiting family, Ronnie steps in as house manager helping to keep things running smoothly.

When OTOW met Charles, he was in a very dark place in his life. OTOW gave him support to help him through this difficult time. OTOW provided Charles with a vehicle, helped him secure a job, and assisted him in getting his VA benefits. Charles now lives independently. Since starting the program, he has also moved up in rank in his company.
